Girl transforms herself into Drake using Make-up!
When she moves her face at the end, omg
AND she didn’t have to resort to blackface. Take note, white people during Halloween.

I don’t care what other dudes think, the “friend zone” is awesome.
This “friend zone” talk perpetuates the notion that the only incentive for men to interact with women is the possibility for a romantic relationship or sex. Same thing with the whole “don’t be a nice guy” sentiment. Seriously, what’s wrong with being kind or helpful to a lady...

I wish we could go back to the days of the working-class intellectual. When you could work in a factory or the shipyards and still be a writer or scholar. I guess it’s still possible to do that (though the lack of actual factories or shipyards in the US is kind of a problem), but it seems like everything now is internship this, two years experience that, go to grad school after some-odd...
Childish Gambino on LNWJF. I am dumb for not going to his show like I had planned.

Watching 'Purple Rain' on TV.
Does the acting stink? Kinda. Do I care? Hell, no. Is Prince the best thing to come out of Minneapolis since Fran Tarkenton and the Jucy Lucy? Hell, yes!!!

Yay, Mr. Shearer!
Indeed, you have to look at these high-paid labor situations in context in terms of how much higher-ups are earning proportionally, but while actors and athletes argue with management over millions of dollars, people in this country either don’t have jobs or are working for pay that hardly covers living expenses and are unable to organize due to ridiculous and exploitative...

Anthony Bourdain: SOUTHERN COMFORT →
anthonybourdain:
I just got back from family vacation, where, for ten days, I violated all my rules and everything I’ve ever preached about how to travel. I stayed put. I rarely left the hotel grounds. I ate in the same two restaurants for most of my trip—rarely deviating from pasta, pizza and gelato. Though…
That’s it- I’m moving to Cajun country.
With all of the 9/11 memorial stuff, I can’t help but think about how perplexing I found peoples’ responses to the tragedy at the time. Sure, I was shocked by the attacks, and of course I completely understood how those who knew of people who died would be deeply affected. But aside from that, I just found it so strange that so many people would become so emotional and tearful for...

GastroDiary #2: Electric Boogaloo (Frittatas)
Spring quarter was kinda ‘bleh,’ so I didn’t really cook as much as I wanted to, but I did perfect my recipe for frittatas.
Back Story:
Lately, I’ve become a fan of ‘Entourage.’ I know, the dudes on the show seem like the douchiest douches to ever douche around Douchetown, but I think it’s funny and I appreciate the friendship between the characters....

GastroDiary #1: Pork Belly Reuben w/ Red Onion...
Introducing GastroDiary: A weekly (or biweekly, depending on budget) series in which I whip up something good. I’ve always liked to cook, but now I’m making a concerted effort to develop my culinary skills, knowledge, and appreciation by preparing things from scratch as possible. For the inaugural post: Pork Belly Reuben with Red Onion Sauerkraut and Sriracha Thousand Island...

It's so hard to find a good ________ these days. →
Totally agree. The stereotypes we have constructed regarding dating and relationships are in many ways due to our desperation to find someone and fast - as if it’s some obligation to end up in a romantic relationship. I say, love and develop yourself, find success and happiness on your own terms, and if marriage or lifelong companionship is in the cards, then great, but if not,...
During today’s meeting for CUARS (Committee on Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools), someone had mentioned the reports on how students through their second year of college do not “learn” anything and on how the typical student spends at most 12 hours studying, which is about half the recommended amount. I could think of numerous reasons why this would be the...
