In which a Hollywood star actually says that his salary is "ridiculous by any normal standard" and that "No one should feel sorry for any of us."
Yay, Mr. Shearer!
Indeed, you have to look at these high-paid labor situations in context in terms of how much higher-ups are earning proportionally, but while actors and athletes argue with management over millions of dollars, people in this country either don’t have jobs or are working for pay that hardly covers living expenses and are unable to organize due to ridiculous and exploitative policies. I just hope that negotiations like this and in the NBA end quickly so that other employees attached to these industries who aren’t making 6 or 7 figures can go back to work.
No word on any effort to make ‘The Simpsons’ funny again, however…
