I don’t care what other dudes think, the “friend zone” is awesome.
This “friend zone” talk perpetuates the notion that the only incentive for men to interact with women is the possibility for a romantic relationship or sex. Same thing with the whole “don’t be a nice guy” sentiment. Seriously, what’s wrong with being kind or helpful to a lady just to be a good friend, or just a decent human being, without any conditions? While I’m at it, what’s wrong with just being single and cultivating good friendships? Does your value as a person diminish if you don’t get married or have a long-term relationship by a certain age, if ever? If only people could have license to focus on their personal goals and wellness and be happy, irrespective of socially constructed expectations.
