San Jose East Side Union High School District Not Meant for UC System? RUDE!
(via le-ology)
Wish I could say “Hi, I went to Yerba Buena High School in East Side San Jose and I am currently a student of the University of California, Berkeley bitch.”
Oh hell no.
Not that I’m from the area, but that’s very rude of that republican to say that students from a particular area aren’t meant for UCs .. at the same time, he does have a point about vocational schools. Not every student from any given school can attend a UC, and so community colleges and vocational schools are the only options several people have. They’re less cost-effective and they are shorter in duration.
[Thanks to such schools, my sister actually has a chance to obtain a career in the medical field since she didn’t really take high school seriously .. and my mom wasn’t willing to pay for her higher education.] :/
In addition, they should raise funds for all education in general, so that high school programs such as ROP are effective for high school students who have an idea on what career they would like to pursue.
I went to the high school he’s talking about. I remember reading this a few days ago and, I agree, he does have a point about vocational schools… otherwise wtf.
I’ve heard that the only reason he taught there was to one up his resume.
LAME.
I know while I was attending, our high school was ranked on the bottom half (in our district).
Obviously, Mount Pleasant is not amazing
but I still got five on it, bitch.
and I still got into Berkeley and UCLA.
and many of these “gang members” took ap calc with me
and got five on it too.
so suck on that.
We have some fantastic gubernatorial candidates…
